Designer jeans are high fashion jeans. The Nakash brothers (Joe, Ralph and Avi) are generally the one who initiated the trend when they launched their Jordache line of jeans in 1978. Designer jeans are cut for women and men and are often used more fitted jeans low quality, though relaxed cuts are available. In the late 1980s, designer jeans losing popularity. Designer jeans can be purchased at department stores high end, such as Holt Renfrew, Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Barneys New York and Neiman Marcus, along with retailers such as Buckle, Urban Outfitters, and Kitson Boutique. Select Macy's stores carry designer jeans. They typically cost around USD 200, mid-range to more than $ 500 for more end denim.
Some of the original designer brands, namely Jordache, Calvin Klein, and mimeograph machines, are also returning with designs that made them popular.
Calvin Klein reproduced / reissued their old design loop stitched pocket as a throwback to the 1980's style jeans and named Omega. The differences are that the copper rivets in the back pocket were taken out, no double stitches appear next to both jeans and the back pockets were redesigned with a slightly inclined towards the edge.
In August 2007, Jordache completed a major publicity campaign with supermodel Heidi Klum, photographed at the Chateau Marmont.
Dittos jeans, in their trademark assortment of bright colors, are now available at Saks Fifth Avenue.
